Yay pictures...
That is not the future of suits. Suits are supposed to be plain and unassuming, timeless. The difference between a $100 and a $1000 suit is fit and fabric. _________________

Exactly!
By the way, I'm holding out till Paris before I do some more reviews: New York Fashion week's terrible. Just avoid it like the plague. |

Some movies have done a good job of future suits. Gattica did a good job with the kind of super conservative/priest habit combination. _________________

Just checked out a few images from Gattaca. Reminds me of the kind of suits Helmut Lang was doing at the time- not surprise there; the man pretty much defined the look of the 90's. Funnily enough, I think Raf Simons did suits like that once too- and now he's doing this. I want to dig under the surface and see what he's trying to say, yet I just can't see anything apart from something that's ugly.
Marc Jacob's collection this season was a bust. Vomit of the 80's club scene, Calvin Klein is probably the only thing I've liked out of the entire New York Fashion week. |
