I think nattou is disgusting and anyone who says they like it is just saying that to be cool/hip/different etc. _________________ "Back to front, all over, inside out and like a fool, you got me running yet, I never come back there."

| Well, no wonder "fermented" is an euphemism for something else. Hint no. 2: whenever Japanese people insists on how "good for your body" something supposedly edible is, instead of talking even half a second about how good the taste of it is, you know it should not even belong to the category of "food". |

So are you saying that the target market of companies that sell nattou are consumers who are trying to be cool/hip/different etc.? Nattou is an acquired taste. Some people may like it right away, some might not. It also depends on the kind of tastes you like based on the foods you grew up on.
Also, @ Apol, you're supposed to mix the mustard AND the soy sauce with the nattou together, and don't just put it on top. Mix it well until it's all nice and soft. It'll taste better. I see people eat it with toasted bread like a sandwich. It's good that way, really. _________________ What me worry? - Alfred E. Neuman |

that actually sounds sort of decent, like beans and toast--god how i love beans and toast.
i think though, i would rather just have baked beans on toast. it's like choosing between a dirtbike and the vincent black shadow of breakfast foods. _________________
