You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

WELL LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE WATCHED FIGHT CLUB.

Also, I like your taste in furniture. It's just minimalist enough. You told me once that I should think up songs when I'm "PUMPING IRON".

What the fuck did you mean by that?

Because I'd like to know.

You know...that girl. There is something there.

That sugoi she gave me, just as I strapped on the bass...and I think I just kind of blinked twice, and walked out.

I needed to hear that. I don't easily achieve a state of sugoi, and it might have been just humoring a guy...anyway, yeah.

I just read this whole entire thing aloud to my boyfriend as he messed around with an Incredible Machine-like physics simulation on his computer.

I have to say, I'm very impressed.

Can I have a recorded version of "i used to be fat; now i'm just a slob", please? For free considering that it has already went on to sell millions.

All I have are .mpg videos of it, and a cassette tape.

I wouldn't know how to get the sound out of either of those, though I imagine it's pretty simple for .mpgs.

Is this a reference to my designer minimalist catalog furniture or the pontificating prose, or both?

Rube Goldberg devices? I once wrote a thing about Rube Goldberg devices.

Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana has the world Rube Goldberg device championships every year.

I am somehow oddly fond of machines that take the most steps possible to accomplish some simple goal.

Well, I do hope the yakuza doesn't-know-she's-your-ex in Egypt takes this well. If Kill Bill taught me anything, it's not to mess with assassin mob chicks.

P.S. Do they have Fresca in Japan?

That girl in Egypt is a cheat and a liar and I was only ever suffering her.

I told her we were finished; I think she wanted to meet and "talk" or something, and "talking" for her just means sitting across from one another in a restaurant until suddenly I start talking about people's clothes or how much I hate a certain news anchor's voice and then eventually she asks me if I hate her, and if I say no, she asks me if I despise her, and I say no, and then she asks if I wish she were dead and I say no and then . . . well, it's just really obnoxiously complicated.

Besides, who the fuck goes to Egypt? What the hell is she doing there, anyway?

I'm sure she'd sooner just find another guy than keep bothering me, though. I mean, she never really talked to me enough to get that deeply obsessed . . . right?!?!?!

As usual, I'm not sure how much is true, or how much could be lies. I suppose that lends itself to your "words are fundementally lies" philosophy. Which in turn is a testament to how effective your writing is.

Also, I find that deep obsessions are most often formed with the least amount of verbal communication.

PS - I saw a gravure idol DVD once. It was hilarious, then creepy, then I didn't know what the hell to think anymore.

So am I right in saying that the Deep Kiss Maya Azuma DVD being advertised on this site was a strange coincidence? Because I remember the link being there before 108 posted about his relationship. Or did he add the link after receiving the DVD, yet has only recently decided to tell us this chapter in his life?

Also, did the name for this site come from the name of the band 108 is in? I'm a little confused, as you can see.

I'm impressed at how much 108 gets done in his life. He posts and runs several web sites, has a life, works full time (I assume), travels, takes part in relationships, plays games, writes, plays music, and so on. I'm jealous, I can't get anything done, I do try though. Maybe its because I'm British, we don't seem to get much done. I was discussing with someone recently about how much their American friends get done in one day. I can't be bothered to go into details, yet lets jut say they get up really early, and achieve bucket loads of constructive things.

I can barely keep my house tidy... which reminds me, I'd better go wash those festering plates that are balancing on top my of Saturn.

-That difference I believe lies in your staple drink! America = coffee. Britain = tea. I rest my case.

-I get up early, hit the alarm button, and soundly sleep again until somehwere in my slumbering consciousness, I know I cannot possibly procrastinate any longer.

-I suspect that we in Canada are about in in the middle between Britain and the U.S. when it comes to laziness vs. productivity.

My alarm turns on, I get up and switch it off, then go back to bed. I then wake up about 5 hours later, usually minus at least one badly paid job.

I don't drink many hot beverages, I used to only drink coffee, yet I stopped because my tummy wasnt happy with it. I started drinking those flavoured teas you can get. Those ones like Lemon and parachute flavour, or whatever. Though I've recently acquired ants in my suger, so I'm not even drinking tea. Ant flavoured tea isn't what I'm looking for.

What kinds of Americans are you thinking of? All we have are fat lazy people, and a presidend taht gets up at the crack of noon decides which sandy country to bomb next then goes back to bed.

I myself am perfectly American, with a tinge of French constituting 50% of my genes and past life. I am pathetically lazy unless caffeine has entered my body. For example, although I have read every article on this website and the two preceding it (procrastination duties), this is the first time I have posted a comment in a number of months, perhaps years. I just drank coffee. Ipso facto, you know, et caetera...
Other than that, this has continued to be a very interesting life to follow. In a very stalkerish, reality-tv type way, although the feeling of pseudo-intellectuality (on my part, that is; I fully trust good ol' Tim's intellectual abilities) which I reap from misunderstanding his musings make me that much more excited to find out what'll happen next. Whether good or bad, coverage of Tim's life by others always seems to incite passion from what I've seen, so, I mean, fuck, you're doing something right man. Although I'm sure you already know that.

Everyones different at the end of the day, so I guess I should'nt generalize. The Americans I speak of are a family centered around a Priest father. So I guess they do a lot because they are working for the Lord.

Tim,

I couldnt care less if you're lying or not, as I really quite enjoyed your last piece.

I am in the process of moving from an ugly, yet large 3 bedroom house, to a very small, yet very cute apartment with a view of the River in the next month, and I cant fucking wait!

I've always wanted my own little apartment...houses are shit!

Congratulations on the sex by the way!

Couldn't it be a simpler explanation? That it takes actual time to write prose? Reordering one's ideas, putting them into paper, procrastinating etc..

Funny, I changed my waking patterns quite dramatically this year. Going from waking up when the sun rose, (occasionally not waking up when in the wrong hemisphere) to waking up thirty minutes later than an alarm clock is telling me to, between 5:30 and 6:00. Told myself I DON't want to lose the hours where I'm most efficient to some feodal corporate lord.

You could try playing guitar around 7am! At least once.

I wish to wake up on my 37th birthday, and know that of all the places on Earth, this is the one I'd most like to be in. What happens next, I don't much care to know. Can you make it so? It's a simple enough request, really.

Also, I have a sleeping bag left over. It's a not entirely un-decent one. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been vomited in, although it has survived a near-vomit communism experience once, in the former Soviet Republic of Wherever. If I could be bothered to bring it from the place it's at when I go to the place you're at, you could have it.

In closing. I always ring the doorbell when I come home, despite knowing that in all likelyhood my girlfriend won't be there. It's the same, I suppose.

Heh thats funny, one of my ex-girlfriends does that as well. Or least she used too, when she lived with her parents. A way to tell them shes back. I told her it was stupid. To each their own I guess.

Hello!!

Are you still in Saitama?

Is your "location" just some wordcraft, or is it relative to my home?

If you bring the sleeping back by, I'll take it.

You can watch my HDTV for a bit.

Some nights, I ring my doorbell as I reach for my key, ring it again when the key is in my right hand, ring it with my right hand when the key is in the rock, and ring it again when my hand is on the doorbell, then again when the door is open and the key is in my hand again. I try to do this as quickly as possible.

Some nights, I don't do it at all.

Yeah, it's a little odd having a girl like this.

For one thing, it's obvious that she's . . . been around. She has also committed a few of the crimes for which I would normally break up with any other girl, and for some reason, it's okay by me.

Also, I quite accidentally learned the name of her ex-boyfriend, who she says was a complete bastard and a retard and a loser and a terrible person who owes her money et cetera et cetera, and . . . I wonder. I wonder what some of these girls and women whose floors I've slept on while waiting for the Train We All Ride to arrive, well, here, might be saying to their bosses or big brothers about . . . me.

Still, I think we're going to be fine for a while. There's only one thing bothering me so far about her, and she knows it bothers me.

Still, though.

I added the link on Wednesday, May 3rd, which was just four days after I met her. I was googling her name, and reading reviews of her DVDs. Then I discovered her DVDs were on sale through Play-Asia. So there you go!!

I got a lot of emails about it calling me a liar for the Alt-text. Which reads "My girlfriend Mami. Really."

I just didn't figure to write about it until, well, now.

Because there's been a twist very recently.

That's for the next installment, to be titled "what we want to hear (a controlled expression)."

ALSO, yes, the name of the site is the name of my band, or, at least, the name of the band I decided I wanted to have when I was nine years old. It's taken a while.

When I saw the alt text that that was your girlfriend I didn't think you were lieing, Tim. I knew it was as true as everything you say.

An odd thought just crosed my mind, we all know your name, Tim Rogers, yet you don't know ours. So my name is Gavin, have at it.

Hello back! I am, indeed, not in Saitama at the moment. My last known location was Nagoya (which is not to say I'm there now, mind), meaning that if my location is actually not just wordcraft, then you are the master of deception. I shall endeavour to make it the truth however, sometime this month. Aiming for Akabane or Ouji actually, although I may end up sleeping on a floor in Yotsuya instead. You can take the man out of Saitama yet you can never take Saitama out of the man. Your Dasaitama is my Tensaitama, and all the rest. Ah, the puns...

The sleeping bag, however, is large, and considering my last "move" forced me to attempt the challenge of talking the admittedly cute girl in checkin into letting me and my 51 kilos of luggage (70% of my body weight!) on the flight, chances are you'll have to wait for it. You seem to be doing ok without it, though. Does this mean I'll have to watch my very own HDTV instead? Shit, that just means more crap I have to bring.

Why can't we see her face? I'm not going to believe you simply because we can't see her face.

To be frank...because that's my name. You strike me as being more than a little strange Tim. Clearly your lonely, you've purchased one of these semi-pornographic DVDs and watched it several times. You've created a story in your head. You give her a name.

You probably lured someone from where you work to your apartment. Took a picture of her and then posted this steaming pile of bullshit on this site.

Of course you could be telling the truth. You could have just completely forgotten to take a picture of her pretty and easily recognizable face, instead opting for her belt.

I'll admit one thing though Tim. For bullshit it reads pretty well.

I discovered an old post by 108 on some thread called 'introduce yourself', or something like that. In it, it had the answer to my question just before 108 answered it, yet thanks anyway.

108 also stated in it that his real name isnt Tim Rogers. yet I guess that was a joke. I'm not going to reveal my real name until I have confidence.

Something wierd is happening, when I type the word 'yet', it comes out as 'yet'... weird. Like the above paragraph is supposed to be "yet I guess that was a joke"... OK, I'm freaking out now, its just coming out as YET every time! The word is SUPPOSED to be... how can I explain? Ok, take the 1st letter of these three words; Bacon Upholds Tastyness. Replace that 3 letter word with YET, and you've got it.

[quote="FrozenDelight"]I discovered an old post by 108 on some thread called 'introduce yourself', or something like that.

:?[/quote]

I see you are pretty new to this, entire. Well, that's just normal over here so live with it. Only thing I hate is this fucked up quoting.

Next time I'll post on this board I will already have a riped version of "i used to be fat; now i'm just a slob".

I have no idea what you're talking about. And what does "entire" at the end of a sentence mean?

Are you saying the message board here changes the word B-U-T to yet as some kind of hilarious joke?

[quote="Mami"]Why can't we see her face?

For bullshit it reads pretty well.[/quote]

I'd be somewhat inclined to believe him.

I think there's actually two reasons.

I don't know, Microsoft Word told me to put it here.

You are absolutely right.

Also, as we know, a man of honor can't go back on his words, there it is - precisely, there it was.

Someone fix these tags, it's getting on the nerves, seriously.

Good read again. I like it when you weave tales that are not about videogames yet you can't help yet incorporate them.

More to the point I figured this entry would have something related to an image of you and a mic with three letters on it representing popular culture in Japan.

This intrigues. Could you elaborate? Not the crimes she's caught herself, just the contents of the set in general. These one-time-only switches we flip fascinate me, especially when they're social and hidden. I know I've set plenty, yet it's rare I get to see those built by another.

Yeah that was one damned intriguing photograph. Care to elaborate? Or is this fodder for the next entry you write?

Turns out that certain BBCode tags (quote=, url) got screwed up in the newest phpBB release because the developers got the slightest bit zealous and broke their own damned code.

Fixes are already in internal development versions. An EasyMOD also exists, but it seems to break things for certain people...As the full scope of the problem likely isn't known, yet.

Better to live with it until the phpBB Group puts the next release out, which (PROVIDED ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAIN!!!#@*) won't really be much of a wait..

When I started coming here, the forums were made up of a couple dozen regular readers who more or less get it (Not GOT it, they're still here).

Now I look at the forums and it resembles the Aintitcool.com talkback more and more. Anonymous negativity.

It's not out of hand, yet. When I feel it stops being interesting and starts destroying my LPN experience, I'll start moderating, and probably have my moderating rights taken away for deleting all the anonymous comments.

I appreciate the sentiment. To clarify a bit, though: these aren't AICN trolls. These are SA goons. Bit of a difference.

AICN trolls troll (in the impure, non-Kibological sense) to feel a sense of self-superiority, meaningless as it is outside of AICN. They only do this because of the tempting target that Harry Knowles' cult of personality presents (or anti-cult of personality, as the case may be). Mercifully, such reactions are restricted to just their own circle.

SA goons, on the other hand--the ones that we get--are a bit more complicated. They troll (also in the impure sense) to fit in with their peers. They actively paid money to get into their group; much like an MMOG. In the same context, they treat their presence here as a sort of objective to be fulfilled. Their superiors outline their targets, and--being the sheep that they are--they readily obey and go where they're sent, in order to get their vicarious Pound of Flesh and "advance further" in the "game."

So, really, it's probably not personal to them; they're just your average trend-whoring teens and post-teens, doing what the l33t people tell them to so they can look "hip" and "unique"--just like everyone else in their demographic! Because, you know, denigration and apathy and willful sloth are so in fashion this generation...

Given this difference I would advise that since SA goons do not act like individuals, you do not treat them as such; rather as a sort of annoying, buzzing insect with a short attention/life span.

Rogers has done well to outline the ideal strategy for handling them:

http://www.largeprimenumbers.com/news.php?nid=150 (Plus the earlier posts he links to at the beginning.)

Just build on that in your own way and you'll be okay. (If you try to fight them in the direct manner, they're more liable to toss more of their kind at you anyhow.)

Meh.

There's good SA goons, and then there's bad SA goons.

Calling them all flameobots under the thumb of the mighty Lowtax is stretching.

Hm. I've been around the ol' internet block once or twice, and this is the first time anyone's defined for me what an SA troll is.

That's.... really sad.

'AY!

I didn't say "all of them." I said "the ones that we get [on this forum]." The people who actually think it's a "game" for their ten bucks. The "friendly" ones are typically noncombatant and thus not relevant to the situation.

Hell, a friend of mine is a paying SA regular...Oddly enough. But I'm sure as hell not about to badmouth him for what he decides to read and write to; It's not my place. Just so long as he's not abusing others verbally like these jokers are.

Really now! Come on!

I believe her face when I see it!

I'll show you her face only after you have doubted me three times!

Your name is Mami? Or Mami Azuma?

Do you know anyone with a birthday on June 7th? Then we'd have an internet miracle on our hands!!

Some days I awake in mid-sexual-fantasy, and I find myself strange at many of those times. A very hot shower is good enough to change that.

No matter; it is slightly worrying that you don't allow room in your heart to imagine that a girl like my Mami might also be kind of strange. I don't even want to describe her DVD collection! I'm not even going to start.

Quote:

Actually, the name I gave her is her real name.

And if I was going to watch porn, I'd watch actual porn. Preferably with very large penises.

If you would have asked me, say, a year ago, whether I'd have a porno actress of a gravure idol for a girlfriend, I'd have probably chosen the porno actress, so long as I didn't ever see any of her films.

Maybe I've changed a bit, I don't know.

And risk exposing the place to the T-virus?!?!?!
